Paediatric Anaesthesia Fellowships at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne

The Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine at the Royal Children’s Hospital offers advanced training positions (fellowships) in paediatric anaesthesia. Up to 12 positions are available each year.

Positions are 6 or 12 month duration and are generally advertised in March/April for commencement in February or August of the following year.

  • Fellowship aims: These roles are suitable for anaesthetists with previous paediatric anaesthesia training who are now planning a career as a specialist paediatric anaesthetist or a career in mixed adult/paediatric practice.
  • Research fellow: One position is a combined clinical/research role suitable for an anaesthetist aiming to pursue an academic career. The clinical exposure and terms and conditions of this position are identical to the other positions.
