Fellowship Overview
RCH Anaesthesia Fellow positions are either 6 or 12 months in duration. These may include a term in paediatric ICU or neonatal ICU.
Fellows can expect to receive training and experience with the breadth of tertiary paediatric anaesthesia:
- General paediatric anaesthesia
- Paediatric anaesthesia specialties including craniofacial surgery, neurosurgery, urological surgery, major orthopaedic surgery, cardiac surgery, and cardiac, liver and renal transplantation
- Acute pain management
- Participation in the out of hours on-call roster
Fellows also participate in a structured teaching program, which includes:
- Protected non-clinical training time
- A formal education program with fortnightly tutorials
- Supervision of registrars
