Fellowship Overview

RCH Anaesthesia Fellow positions are either 6 or 12 months in duration. These may include a term in paediatric ICU or neonatal ICU.

Fellows can expect to receive training and experience with the breadth of tertiary paediatric anaesthesia:

  • General paediatric anaesthesia
  • Paediatric anaesthesia specialties including craniofacial surgery, neurosurgery, urological surgery, major orthopaedic surgery, cardiac surgery, and cardiac, liver and renal transplantation
  • Acute pain management
  • Participation in the out of hours on-call roster

Fellows also participate in a structured teaching program, which includes:

  • Protected non-clinical training time
  • A formal education program with fortnightly tutorials
  • Supervision of registrars
